01 March 2017 GENEVA – Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto R. Yasay, Jr. met with the Filipino community in Geneva on February 26, during the Philippine Consulate General’s “PCG Ko: Bukas Linggo” quarterly service.
“I am happy that I had this chance to see and get in touch with our kababayans in my brief visit in Geneva,” he said.
The Consulate General has been providing the “PCG Ko: Bukas Linggo” or “Open House” quarterly service since May 2014. It aims to bring its services closer to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, namely the cantons of Geneva and Vaud in Switzerland, who could not visit the Consulate General during weekdays due to their work schedule.
Consular services rendered include passport application processing, civil registry, dual citizenship, and notarials. Representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) based in the Philippine Labor Office (POLO) of Geneva, as well as from the Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG, who are based in Milan, likewise rendered services. Over 200 Filipinos availed of the consular services during Sunday’s Open House. END
