01 March 2017 GENEVA – Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto R. Yasay, Jr. and Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez Bonilla of El Salvador reaffirm their mutual commitment to protect the rights of migrants and their families at a meeting on the sidelines of the High Level Segment of the 34th Session of the Human Rights Council at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on February 28.

Secretary Yasay congratulated Foreign Minister Bonilla on the recent election of El Salvador as President of the Human Rights Council. He likewise expressed appreciation on the partnership of the two countries within the framework of the Human Rights Council on several thematic issues, such as migration, and in particular, in promoting the welfare and protecting the rights of children and youth on the move.
