03 June 2016 - The Filipino Community in Geneva and Vaud, Switzerland gears up its preparation for the celebration of the 2016 Philippine Independence Day. In a community leaders meeting jointly convened by the Ugnayang Bayan and the Philippine Mission/Philippine Consulate General in Geneva, the Filipino community finalized its plans for the year’s Independent Celebration of the Philippine Independence Day.

In her remarks, Ambassador Cecilia B. Rebong, Philippine Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, emphasized the importance of early preparations for the successful hosting of the Philippine Independence Day activities.

During the community leaders meeting, Ugnayang Bayan President, Ruben Edejer, discussed the details of the community activities for the Philippine Independence Day, including the whole community gathering and cultural show on June 18 in Salle Plainpalais, Geneva.

The Ugnayang Bayan is the federation of Filipino organizations in Geneva and Vaud, Switzerland. END
