ASEAN Committee in Geneva Gears Up for ASEAN Anniversary Activities

20 July 2017 — Ambassador Evan P. Garcia (center), Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the UN and Other International Organizations in Geneva, chaired the third meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Geneva this year under the chairmanship of the Philippines on July 12, 2017. The meeting prepared for major activities in Geneva to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN, namely the visit of ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh in September 2017, a Photo Exhibit at the United Nations that will highlight the region’s history and accomplishments coinciding with the visit, and an ASEAN Day at the World Intellectual Property Organization that will focus on the links between innovation and development in the region.
