27 February 2017 GENEVA — Ms. Maria Teresa T. Almojuela, Deputy Permanent Representative and Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., chaired this year’s first meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Geneva (ACG) on February 22.

 She led discussions on the group’s priorities and activities as ASEAN enhances its engagement with the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva.

The Committee noted that the ASEAN Missions have assumed important roles that have raised ASEAN visibility in Geneva and agreed to highlight the accomplishments of the ASEAN Community in the various multilateral bodies and forums represented in Geneva, especially as ASEAN marks the 50th anniversary of its founding this year. The ACG, composed of the ten ASEAN Permanent Missions in Geneva, was established in March 1973. END
