PH Mission to UN Kicks Off 12th Workshop on Financial Education in Lausanne, Switzerland

Ambassador Evan Garcia, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the UN and Other International Organizations in Geneva, encourages overseas Filipinos to continue enhancing their financial management skills during the opening of the 12th Financial Education and Entrepreneurial Workshop in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland, on 4 February 2018.

12 February 2018 GENEVA — The Permanent Mission of the Philippines and Other International Organizations/ Philippine Consulate General (Geneva PM/PCG) and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Geneva started its 12th Workshop on Financial Education and Entrepreneurship for Overseas Filipinos in the city of Lausanne in Switzerland on 04 February.

The Workshop, now on its third year, aims to enhance the skills of overseas Filipinos on financial management through a series of lectures and workshops that explore principles of risk, investment, financial reporting and entrepreneurship in the context of migration.

Ambassador Evan P. Garcia, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the UN and Other International Organizations in Geneva, encouraged the participants to continue planning and preparing for their future. “The country has not forgotten you,” he said, stressing that the Philippine Mission would continue implementing programs for the benefit of overseas Filipinos.

Launched in November 2014, the twelve-hour course has so far had some 400 graduates and is a major component of the gender and development program of Geneva PM/PCG. The Workshop in Lausanne was held in cooperation with the Filipino-Swiss Vaud Association. END
