PHL Consulate General in Geneva 4th 2017 Open House Series with Highest Number of Filipinos Served

07 December 2017 GENEVA – The Philippine Consulate General in Geneva held its 4th Quarter and final Open House “PCG Ko, Bukas ng Linggo” for the year 2017 today and catered to at least 120 OFWs who availed of various consular services, proving it to be the most well received and participated weekend outreach event of the Philippine Consulate General in Geneva for this year.
The “PCG Ko Bukas ng Linggo” provided passport, dual citizenship, civil registry, overseas absentee voting and OWWA registration services.
A team from Milan PCG based Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG offices also travelled to Geneva to provide their respective services.
“I salute the officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General in Geneva for their dedication and commitment to bring public service to the people even on weekends”, said Ambassador Evan P. Garcia, Philippine Permanent Representative to the UN and Other International Organizations in Geneva.
The Consulate General’s Open Houses are conducted on Sundays, had been an ongoing program of the Consulate since 2014. It is an initiative aimed at bringing consular and other services closer to Filipinos based in Geneva and Vaud, Switzerland who cannot readily avail of consular services during the weekdays due to their work schedules. Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG, both based in Milan, providing services to OFWs in Geneva and Vaud, Switzerland during the 4th Quarter Open House of the Philippine Consulate General in Geneva on 26 November 2017. Instead of travelling all the way to Milan OFWs in Geneva and Vaud flock to the Consulate General to avail of Pag-IBIG and SSS services.
