Young Filipina Wins in the 2017 Peace Pals International Art Contest

05 December 2017 GENEVA – Teisha Danielle Sia, a 13-year old from the Philippines, won third prize at the 2017 Peace Pals International Art Contest.

Almost 40,000 artwork entries from 60 countries joined the contest. The winners were announced at the 20th Anniversary Peace Pals International Art Exhibition and Awards Ceremony on 21 November in Geneva, Switzerland.

“I congratulate Teisha Danielle Sia on the well-deserved award. She represents the universal aspirations of young people for a peaceful and prosperous communities,” said by Ambassador Evan P. Garcia, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva. 

Organized by the Peace Pals International, together with International Union for Conservation of Nature DiversEarth, this year’s annual event features the creative artworks of youth ages 5 to 16 which aims to inspire peace education around the globe in relation to environmental protection. This year’s theme is “Nature for All-Loving the Earth.” END
