04 October 2016 — On September 25, 131 Filipinos based in Geneva and Vaud, Switzerland visited the Philippine Consulate General in Geneva to avail of the Consulate’s Open House program themed, “PCG Ko, Bukas ng Linggo.”
The Consulate opened its doors on a Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to render consular services for Filipinos including processing passport applications, civil registry, dual citizenship, and notarials. Representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) based in the Philippine Labor Office (POLO) of Geneva, as well as from the Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG based in Milan were likewise on hand at the invitation of the Consulate.
The event was intended to bring consular services to Filipinos who could not visit the Consulate during weekdays due to their work schedule. Most of the visitors to the Sunday Open House program found it very convenient.
The Open House, held every quarter at the Consulate since May 2014, is part of the Consulate’s efforts to bring its services closer to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the cantons of Geneva and Vaud in Switzerland. END
